For Sudor Station, made in collaboration with Abby Banks and Ernesto Mendez:

These photos are, for me, a testament to Ernesto as a photographer of humanity. Each photo feels like a plunge into the possibilities of his subjects—into their often very literal material constraints, and, simultaneously, into their striving. I feel his love of the world expressed over a decade of careful attentiveness to scenes and passing people that so easily slip into the swirling soup of the pedestrian. I feel the concrete weight of industry pressing down on the subway station as the mass of sweating humans nearly burst it from within.
